Estate Planning

Estate planning is the process of organizing and arranging the distribution of your assets after your death, ensuring that your wishes are fulfilled in a clear and legally binding way. It involves preparing for the management of your assets, finances, and personal affairs in the event of incapacitation or death. Estate Planning can include:

  1. Will: A legal document that specifies how your property and assets will be distributed upon your death, including naming an executor to carry out your wishes.
  2. Power of Attorney (POA): A document that designates someone to make financial or legal decisions on your behalf if you become incapacitated.
  3. Healthcare Directives: A document outlining your preferences for medical treatment and designating someone to make healthcare decisions for you if you’re unable to make them yourself.
  4. Guardianship Designations: In the case of minor children, an estate plan can designate who will take on the responsibility of caring for them if both parents are unavailable.
