Leslie L. Votaw
Leslie L. Votaw is a founding member of Votaw & Schwarz law office, practicing law since 2000 mainly in Dearborn and Ohio Counties. The focus of her practice is competent and full service criminal defense, representing private individuals in that capacity and being a public defender for the Seventh Judicial Circuit and the Dearborn Superior Courts since 2000. Ms. Votaw also provides thoughtful representation, advice and counseling in the probate, and estate planning areas of the law, assuring that her clients are ready and adequately represented for any stage in their lives. Her previous experience with municipal law, serving the City of Lawrenceburg as Assistant City Attorney from 2004 to 2012 and City Attorney from 2012 to 2015 as well as City Attorney for Rising Sun for 6 months in 2011, has prepared her to handle various civil matters, including personal injury representation.
Ms. Votaw graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. She attended her first year and summer of law school at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis from 1996 to 1997 and transferred to Salmon P. Chase School of Law at Northern Kentucky University in the fall of 1997, graduating and passing the bar in Indiana in 2000. She is a member of the Dearborn/Ohio County Bar Association and the Indiana Public Defender Council. She met the love of her life in 1997 and married him in 2001, raising three beautiful children along the way.
